Blyth’s Hornbill, Papuan Hornbill, Aceros plicatus ruficollis,

We saw this impressive Hornbill regularly on Halmahera. They were most often flying high across a valley or over the tops of tall trees. A further 6 races are recognised eastwards to the Solomon Islands. This handsome adult showed very well by the side of the road 12 kms east of the town of Tabadamai in Halmahera in late September.
