White-browed Sparrow-Weaver Plocepasser mahali

This impressive bird is the size of a Eurasian Hawfinch. It was common across Ethiopia in scrubby bush and scattered woodland. These images were taken near Negele in the SE of Ethiopia in November 2011. In Africa it has a range running from Ethiopia SW to Namibia and South Africa.
