Drawbridge Ghost Town 4

By the 1960s, pollution had driven away the waterfowl, and stank the entire area. People began leaving. Premature announcements in the San Jose Mercury News of Drawbridge becoming a "ghost town" encouraged looters and vandals, further driving away inhabitants. The last inhabitant left in 1979.
