So it turns out that Arizona has a lot more to offer than I originally made myself believe. You just have to drive a little. Or a lot.

So, a while ago, Christian and I planned a little trip up north, up by Anthem and New River. It was quite the drive but very much worth it. I wasn't crazy about going out on a school night but Christian ended up convincing me to go. We bought a couple LP tools on the way up there and then arrived, spent a little time looking for a solid place to shoot, and started setting up before it gets too dark. Just out of luck, the little shack that I decided to shot as my foreground just happened to be facing south, with an old wooden pole right next to it. And I've been meaning to have a shot with the North Star in it, and this was obviously the perfect opportunity. I did a couple test shots, and then let it rip.

Shack lit with P7 Lenser during the last exposure.

When I was editing a little bit, I realized it might have been out of focus a little... which I probably should spent a little more time on when I was there. But I think that help make the trails a little bigger and stand out more. Took a while to edit out some of the planes though. After stacking, I resized in Photoshop and posted it! My favorite star trail to date. Getting the hang of it :) Quality bro-sesh on a cold night. Here's Christian's shot!

Getting more comfortable and faster with each trip I take... lovin' it!

P.S. The title I used was a reference to the book, The Shack by William P. Young, which uses the death of the main character’s daughter, Missy (who was killed in a shack), as the basis of the book’s plot. Thought that was pretty clever :)
