Canon Photo5 Competition "balloon" contender.
Canon S3 IS, Flash. This has been edited. I cloned out a handle from the mirror in which this was shot - you can still see the shadow on my shoulder. The concept was inspired somewhat by Magritte.
I felt a little like this when my father was ill. He had leukemia. He was too weak to shave himself, so I did it for him. He didn't like using an electric razer, so I used a blade razer like this. The only problem with people with a suppressed immune system is that any cut could lead to a fatal infection. He was dying anyway, but I needed him around for a while to say goodbye properly - and I didn't want to speed things up (which is odd, because I am pro-euthenasia). Each time I shaved him, I felt trepidation. It's really hard shaving someone who is not you; and then being nervous doesn't help keep one's hands steady. Fortunately, I never slipped, and Dad was a little more comfortable.
