Christopher Gallagher
This work analyses the gallery as an institution, a construction devised deliberately for voyeurism. This work is an institutional critique of cultural organisation and an established understanding amongst society. The work is a series of publicity images showing the exterior of the Riverfront. The work, returned to its origins illuminates from the darkness, highlighting the relationship between the exterior façade and the interior representation of art. I want the viewer to feel detached from their surroundings and question the established mechanisms of spectatorship adopted by the gallery.
