White-rumped Monjita

Southern Pantanal, Brazil

“Thank goodness” I can hear mumbled from certain quarters and I wouldn’t disagree because, with around fifty species of bird images published from this particular trip, I think it’s about time to move on to a few animal photos before another break in posting. But, before I do, here are my final avian offerings in the way of five more Neotropical passerines with the last shot being an appropriate one to close on as it includes an animal.

The White-rumped Monjita [Xolmis velatus] is a Neotropical Suboscine species (suborder : Tyranni), and classified as a Tyrant Flycatcher (family : Tyrannidae).
