Common Raven

(Corvus corax canariensis)

The Raven of Fuerteventura (and other Canary Islands) is noticeably smaller than its northern cousins in mainland Europe. Probably more the size of a Carrion Crow in the UK and with a slightly different call.

The ones at Mirador Las Penitas have become accustomed to tourists leaving food behind, as probably the first people up there that morning we were quickly greeted by six spiralling down out of the sky to see what we have to offer.
