Marsh Tit - Poecile palustris
Marsh Tit has a very limited distribution in Northumberland, my old local patch Bolam Lake used to be a stronghold but for nearly 20 years they have been tricky to find there.
Thankfully numbers seem to be improving again, on every trip so far this year I've found at least 4 without even looking as I'm walking round the lake.
Tricky to tell apart from the Willow Tit with some subtle plumage differences the call in particular distinguishes between the two species.
