Molothrus bonariensis female (Shiny Cowbird / Chamón)

The Shiny Cowbird is a small, sexually dimorphic, brood-parasitic icterid. The male is entirely glossy violet blue-black or purplish black or (wings and tail) glossy greenish blue. The female dull grayish brown above. The Shiny Cowbird breeds in most of South America. It has recently reached the USA, where it is probably breeding in southern Florida.
