No Notch Step 6

Step 6: now wind back up, making X's -- this is known as the X wind-on, after all! The X wind-on builds a very stable cop that won't tend to shift -- important as you want it to be stable.


Bring the yarn back up around the whorl near the "notch yarn" that is the starter yarn that is still on the hook. Your new yarn end will use that starter yarn as a brake, and won't twirl around your spindle whorl.
