Ramiah's first year

During a walk in the hallways of Penn State Children’s Hospital, Robert and Leanne Martin stop at a Christmas tree with their daughter, Ramiah, 1. Ramiah had been diagnosed with a rare condition called tracheal agenesis, meaning she was born without a trachea. Once this was discovered, a 3D printed device was surgically implanted as a scaffold to help Ramiah’s esophagus serve as a replacement for her missing trachea.
