15e Location - Eastern Phoebe, Vancouver

On December 13, 2016, I saw this bird feeding at the pond in Jericho in Vancouver. Mike and Melissa identified it as the Eastern Phoebe, and was the first reported sighting in Metro Vancouver.

This bird breeds in eastern North America, and winters in the southernmost United States and Central America.

The Eastern Phoebe was the first bird to be banded in North America. In 1804, John James Audubon used a silver thread attached to its leg to note when the bird would return each year.
