Apsara dancers

Having missed Apsara dancing in Siem Reap it was good to see the Dancers of Bassac's celestial women dancers performing at Phnom Penh's National Museum. The Children of Bassac is a company of 25 dancers led by Master Ieng Sithul, a traditional theatre singer, and they perform classical dance and folk dances. Apsaras in Hindu mythology were the messengers of the gods, and the dances were fashionable in the Angkor era. In the modern day, it's slower than disco.
