olive-backed sunbird, female
parent return to nest with captured prey items to feed 2 hungry chicks.(every about 15-20mins between feedings)
prey ranging from winged ants, preying mantis, caterpillar (various type mainly green), spiders(wide range of species including lynx spider, crab spider, daddy long legs etc) and a host of insects. Very often the female is seen with a combination of insects, caterpillars and spiders in her beak simultaneously.
A clear indication that the sunbird parents are very capable of catching a wide range of insects other than merely sipping nectar from flowers which they normally do outside the nesting period.
