The Loom Room

These bright metal columns once divided vast racks of looms powered by a long drive shaft and mighty engine on one side of Dalton Mills. The noise in here would have been a cacophany of clattering machinery, populated with workers continually tending to the ceaselessly thundering mechanisms producing textiles. I thought this shot would benefit from a sense of human scale so decided to step into the frame and turn it into a quick self portrait.
