Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) 17

This bird spent all morning building a nest in the boom pulley of one of the dock yard cranes. It would disappear for 5 minutes whilst the rooks would inspect the work, then come back with a big twig or rag. The rooks tried to be brave about getting close and perhaps attempting to take posession, so I think the housing crisis has hit the local birdlife here in Alabama now. There are at least 3 ospreys that are in the vicinity. They were doing circles about the yard just a few days ago.
