Sunkhaze Meadows Under the Stars; Benton, Maine
I went out hunting Lyrids last night. While I saw a few, none of them showed while I had the camera cranked.
I lost my remote so with bulb exposures pretty well out of the question, I ran semi-high ISO 30-second exposures instead. I brought the astrotracker, but with such a crazy-wide focal length it wasn't really needed.
Clouds started rolling in on me, and at first I was cranky about it. Then I saw the results of the moonlit clouds against the stars and said "Yes, please..."
Shot with the 10-20mm, stopped down slightly to f/4.5 to try to make the stars more pointy and less splotchy (not sure if it really worked though. View at 100% at your own risk...).
I absolutely loved the colors off the clouds so I tried working with them for the final image.
