Loggerhead Shrike - Lanius ludovicianus (Laniidae) 115v-11466

Towards the end of our first day in Florida, we decided to look for Burrowing Owls. Cape Coral is noted for these small, long-legged Owls which are encouraged to nest in vacant lots where they are protected. We didn't find any owls but this Loggerhead Shrike was spotted just before sundown perched on a utility pole guy-wire near the Cape Coral library.
