20140628_Norway_0096 Bergen

A 1000-year-old stone cross in front of a rebuilt (completed in 1997 after an arsonist burnt it down in 1992) stave church from the 12th century. These wooden churches get their name from the corner posts; in Norwegian, ‘stav’ means ‘pole.’
