20111111_Egypt_0211 Alexandria Fort Qaitbey

Inside Fort Qaibey is a small mosque that is the oldest in Alexandria. A British bombardment in 1882 blew the minaret off the fort. The central space of the mosque rises up through the fort. The screened windows allow women to discretely see what is going on in the mosque.
