No.9 Quality Row was designed and built during the convict period (c.1839-1840) as one of two first class officers quarters. Today it is occupied by the KAVHA Public Research Centre.
The KAVHA Public Research Centre is open to everyone with an interest in the history of the World Heritage listed KAVHA site and its buildings , or the family histories of people who have settled and worked in Kingston & Arthurs Vale over several hundred years. The KAVHA Public Research Centre welcomes local residents, visitors,scholars, teachers, historians, conservation and museum professionals, genealogists and family historians. The collections include extensive convict records from 1788-1856, reports on the Colony of Norfolk Island between 1856 and 1896, British parliamentary papers and reports on the convicts and Pitcairners, and many other important documents.
