Bering Sea Walrus Research
USGS wildlife scientist Tony Fischbach was kind enough to share these photos from a March 2008 research trip into the Bering Sea aboard a Coast Guard icebreaker -- the Healy.

The photos show scientists doing their work in tracking down walrus on the ice, radio tagging them, and collecting other data.

Fischbach works in Anchorage at the USGS offices in the Walrus Research Program, part of the Alaska Science Center.
