Spammed at the source?

A few old posts from Eric Meyer's blog recently turned up as new in my rss reader (bloglines). I'm guessing that the spam-like links littering each post are the culprit. The question: where are they coming from?

 

At first I thought this was Bloglines was inserting them as ads, although that did seem to be unlikely given their placement.

 

Checking the site's actual RSS feeds:

 

meyerweb.com/eric/thoughts/rss2/full

www.meyerweb.com/eric/thoughts/wp-rss2.php

 

You can see the spam links are present. This means that either Eric M. is purposely adding them to his posts (highly unlikely), or they are being added by his weblogging software (Wordpress).

 

Anyone have some insight as to what is going on here?
