Autumn at Couchville Lake
Couchville Lake is at Long Hunter State Park in Davidson County, TN. In 1963, Percy Priest Dam was built on the Stones River. In addition to creating Percy Priest Lake, the impoundment of the river forced water to back up through underground channels, leading to the formation of Couchville Lake, the small lake situated near the center of Long Hunter State Park. The park opened in 1978. Today, there is a nature trail that surrounds the lake. For me, the highlight of this trail is a pedestrian bridge that crosses one end of the lake (seen on the left off in the distance). Another highlight is a fishing pier.
