Jungle walk

This stone path was part of an ancient Buddhist monastery now overrun by dense jungle.

The path leads from monastery complex to monastery complex but there comes a point where it becomes dangerous because of wild animals and the guide won't let you go any further. But it does pass where the god Hanuman took off to fly to Rama to tell him where his wife Sita was imprisonned. Also when he flew back from the Himalayas carrying herbs to treat a wounded Rama (and being a silly monkey not knowing what a herb was he carried a whole mountain), he dropped some herbs which is why the area is rich in medicinal herbs.
