Today, I ventured to the Matthaei Botanical Garden & had a good time enjoying all of the color that I miss so much during long dark & drab winters. The trip really gave me a needed boost of positive energy.
Thx to Connie Crancer at the Matthaei Botanical Garden, I now know that this particular specimen is about 78 yrs old, collected in the Keys in 1990 (which is recently illegal). Training began in 1992. The habit (twisted-ness) and the deadwood is typical of the species. And The deadwood and live wood are one plant.
