Upper Chattahoochee Campground on the Chattahoochee National Forest received extensive damage as a result of the EF-1 Tornado on March 17, 2018. Nearly every campsite is impacted by fallen trees, with a high risk of additional trees/limbs that could continue to fall given predicted winds. In addition to cleaning up debris and fallen trees, the Forest Service will conduct a complete a full hazard assessment of the area to ensure appropriate safety mitigation actions are completed prior to opening for public use.
