Panda roux

Le panda roux, appelé aussi petit panda ou panda rouge (nom scientifique Ailurus fulgens), est un petit animal arboricole natif de l'est de Himalaya et du sud-ouest de la Chine.

C’est un mammifère omnivore. Il mesure de 50 à 65 cm, queue non comprise, et cette dernière mesure de 30 à 60 cm. Le panda roux vit environ 15 ans.

Il est classé comme vulnérable par l'UICN : sa population à l'état sauvage est estimée à moins de 10000 animaux adultes.

The red panda (Ailurus fulgens), also called lesser panda, red bear-cat and red cat-bear, is a small arboreal mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and south-western China.

It is an omnivorous mammal. It measures from 50 to 65 cm , plus tail , and the latter measures from 30 to 60 cm. The red panda lives about 15 years.

It has been classified as vulnerable by IUCN as its wild population is estimated at less than 10,000 mature individuals.
