Rome Beauty Apples Just Picked
Cobalt knows a thing or two about apples, from her grandfather. He planted an orchard when he was 74, filled with many varieties of apples, some heirloom. The townsfolk in Iowa thought it was crazy for an old man to do this when it would take a long time to produce. Yet my siblings and I grew up on the many applesauces and pies that resulted. Oh how I miss the Jonadells, snow and yellow transparent varieties. These Rome Beauty applies are perfect for pies to come.
