Secret Messages Underneath a Chair

This is the bottom side of the rocking chair that belonged to my brother David (www.flickr.com/photos/cogdog/2274055016/).

 

I've never seen underneath; in preparation to clean my carpet, I moved all the furniture and stacked the chair on my couch.

 

The brand name on the seal I finally guessed as "Temple Stuart" but I cannot figure out if "Duxbury" is a manufacturing location, or the name if a craftsman.
