my mother's photographs
My mother, Klaertje Lensvelt (1916-1987), was an avid photographer whose biggest problem was a lack of time to devote to her hobbies. Raising six children in the 1950's tended to do that to you... So most of her pictures after 1950 were family snapshots and only rarely did she find the time to shoot her favorite still-lives.

Still, in many of her images I see her control of the medium as a master storyteller, able to create a mood through lighting, composition and catching 'the moment'.

I never doubted for a moment from where my love for photography stems!
