PacManhattan making the rounds again - this time in some British magazine
PacManhattan = aka "the project that just won't die!". Seriously!
ps: jk, I heart everything about PM, except that stoopid photo of me in the upper right.
I was on a panel in Amsterdam and someone asked me why there aren't more games like PacManhattan. The answer? They are so incredibly complex to set up and plan and a pain in the arse to coordinate and execute... if you think about it, only ten people in the world have ever played the version of PacManhattan we designed. Crazytalk, no? I'd love to see more people experimenting in this space - Frank's Big Games class @ ITP is certainly a big part of that - and I'm hoping that the smarter location tech (both mobile + web side) you see coming to the foreground now will help make this easier for designers and developers.
(btw, if you're into this stuff, check out PayPhone Warriors - a more elegent / more scalable version of a PM-esque urban street game)
ps: you can click "All Sizes" (above!) to zoom in and read the blurb.
