South Street Seaport panorama #18

This is the south side of Fulton Street, between South and Front Streets. These former warehouses, 2-18 Fulton Street, constitute Schermerhorn Row, so-named thanks to the merchant and ship-owner they were built for, Peter Schermerhorn, and were built between 1811-1812. It was later given a fine restoration by Jan Hird Pokorny. Today, the row is...well, basically it's an outdoor mall, a fairly uninspired batch of chain stores: Ann Taylor, Benetton, the Body Shop, and so on.

#18 in my series of panoramas documenting every block in the South Street Seaport Historic District. An uncropped version of this can be found here. I say a little more about the Schermerhorn Row Block, South Street Seaport, and the Historic District on my landmarks blog.
