Montana de Oro Rock Terraces
There were five of us who hiked over a couple of killer sand dunes to reach this stretch of isolated coastline. At the toe of the dune there is a water seep where a colony of tiny frogs have settled. We went to find the frogs but I was taken away by the beauty of the rock terraces. Although these rocks jut into the ocean, the yellow-flowered foreground plant is a result of the fresh water seep.
BTW, it was the hike back out of these dunes that almost killed my knee - which later required surgical repair. But the view was worth it.
