Adam Mickiewicz
The big statue in the main square is of him, and he's buried in the cathedral
in the castle alongside the kings.
"Adam Bernard Mickiewicz (December 24, 1798 November 26, 1855) was one of
the most well-known Polish poets and writers, considered as the greatest
Polish poet, besides Zygmunt Krasinski and Juliusz Slowacki. He is also
considered one of the greatest poets of Eastern Europe."
