Passion flower

A vine has crept from our neighbor's garden into ours.


The passion flower owes its name to the symbolism, devised by a Spanish Missionary: the flower symbolizes the suffering of Jesus. The three stamps are the three nails, through which Jesus hung on the cross. The five stamen are the five wounds and the blue circle the crown of thorns.
