Miracle Mile

This is a statue of Roger Bannister and John Landy who competed at Empire Stadium in the 1950s in the first race in which two men finished a mile in under 4 minutes.

 

I've always loved this sculpture. I still love it, even though I went past in on the bus twice a day for, oh, ten years or so.
