some people call me the joker
We all have a pack of cards in the house but how often have you looked at them? Really looked?
The things you can do with a playing card are almost endless - when we were kids we used to clip them to bike wheels and ride down the street listening to the clattering flapping sound.
Theyve been used to mark kills by soldiers, folded, bent mutilated, been used to play a thousand games of chance and luck and theyre something we dont consider.
These cards come from a casino - theyre actual playing cards, they use the packs for so many hands and then put them in a box, drill a hole in them and sell them.
Who knows what stories this pack could tell, how many people have held them in their hands, if they won or lost -perhaps someone won a million dollars with them or lost everything they had. Just another untold story of everyday items.
Shot in Macro, cropped and then intentionaly filtered and cross processed to punch up the look and give it a super saturated color. When commenting remember they look like this intentionally - I lit them strongly to bring up the shadows and contrasts and to make them look hyper real at the same time - a new way of looking at an everyday playing card.
