Women of NASA
Since its inception in 1915 as the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), NASA has been staffed by brilliant people -- some of whom were strong, empowered women! Women of the NACA started out as secretaries and "human computers," who transcribed raw data, but eventually began working, researching, and flying alongside the men of the agency. The women of NASA's past were an integral part of the agency's history and paved the way for women to contribute to the study of aeronautics and space today.
