PQ Angels - ぴいきゅうエンジェルズ

A couple weeks ago Miss Dream was looking to part with a large chunk of old (back issue / back number) unbound (all the pages separated from the bindings) Nakayoshi monthlys (as well as some other gekkan and magazines).

 

Among them were the four issues from 1997 comprising the only four published chapters of the Naoko Takeuchi manga called "PQ Angels" or ぴいきゅうエンジェルズ in Japanese.

 

AHEM... [Begin customary flare for the dramatic regarding manga collection...] The "legend" has it that once these were published, the original artwork and/or manuscripts were lost by the publisher (Kodansha)... and thus not able to be published again (and the series was also cancelled). The four chapters only appeared in monthly comics... and so this "perfect storm" of events makes these four volumes of Nakayoshi extremely rare and special.

 

They are by no means mint condition... like... at all, but for me, the price was right and I wanted them badly... and having them this way is better than not at all.

 

I am so over the moon (no pun intended). As I said on twitter, if 15 year old me had known that we would one day own these, she would flip the hell out. \(T_T)/

 

I picked up several other things, but PQ Angels was the main course. ♥
