Edmund DeMarco Lee Jr.'s mother, La'Sheika White, right, walks him to school Wednesday morning in St. Louis. Lee is a third grade student at Gateway Science Academy in St. Louis Missouri. His family moved from the inner city of St. Louis to Maryland Heights a more suburban and safer environment to raise their kids. Edmund, 9, can't continue to go to GSA because he's black. An outdated desegregation law prevents black students in the county areas from attending inner city schools. However, GSA a mostly white school, is preventing racial diversity by not allowing Edmund, a black eighth grader, from attending the school that he loves and loves him.
