Eagle nest

At the mouth of Wallowa River, on the shore of Wallowa Lake, in the foothills of the Wallowa Mountains. From our trip to Yellowstone a few years ago.

Part of the Wallowa Mountains, just south of the lake, is the Eagle Cap Wilderness, appropriately.

I failed to get a photo of the bald eagle that flew right over our heads. Amazing creatures. This is also where we saw thousands and thousands of salmon leaping in the shallow delta channels of the river. Magical place.

I've posted some other photos of this place, like this, and this. Oh and this.
