Pinus flexilis

Limber pine is very common in the Big Snowy Mountains especially on the exposed rocky ridges. It is also sporadic among the dense stands of Engelmann spruce (Picea engelmannii) and Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii). Whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) was not found in the area of the Big Snowy Mountains.
