A 22-spot ladybird, poised on a daisy petal. Needless to say, this was from a couple of months ago - not seen either daisies or ladybirds today.

This teeny tiny ladybird was on my windows. Not the best shot, but not one that I can recall seeing before.
- Psyllobora 22-punctata
Not the best image but I couldn't persuade it to stand still and pose nicely for the camera.
Quite often find shieldbugs and ladybirds together, which is twice as pleasing, being as I love both!
Main shot and first in comments are green shieldbug nymphs & 7-spot ladybirds, and last one is with a 22-spot ladybird!

A full house in the trumpet of a daffodil, a tiny Meligethes species pollen beetle, watches over a 22-spot Ladybird..
Saw quite a few of these 22-spot ladybirds yesterday, but this one caught my eye, as it was missing the yellow pigment from one elytron! Guessing it's down to damage?!

One from a couple of weeks ago, we were just about to sit down for dinner one evening when I noticed this little ladybird on the Snapdragons, well dinner had to wait and so off to get the camera.

Warmest day in ages! It was wonderful being outside :-)
#193 in my photo-a-day project.
Handheld, natural light.
Not that sharp on the head and I wasn't going to post it but never caught this ladybird with the wing cases open so here it is. The UK's smallest ladybird, the psyllobora 22 punctata. Only 3-5 mms long. Our white walls attract quite a few insects and I was transporting him to some vegetation when he decided he had had enough! Pure luck I caught it with him on one hand and one hand on my camera!
I am decluttering hard drives, and I fell upon this, a decluttered image..Lol! A vague go at a different style some years ago. A 22 spot ladybird.
An orange ladybird larva (Halyzia 16-guttata) lower, meets a 22-spot ladybird larva (Psyllobora 22-punctata)! Inevitable really, both being mildew feeders!

A gentle tap of a grass tussock produced 7-spot, 16-spots and a 22-spot ladybird. No idea what the cat is though! All put back carefully afterwards.

Some lovely 22-spot ladybirds encountered throughout the year in Shropshire!

22 Spot Ladybird or Twenty Two Spot Ladybird is a beetle out the family Coccinellidae. It is a very small ladybird 3mm with a citron yellow color and black spots. It is unusual amongst ladybirds in that eats mildew, grazing from the soil surface or from low herbage.
You can find this ladybird from April to August most amongst low vegetation.
Two of six 22spot ladybirds seen in a country lane. They feed on mildew not aphids and are very tiny.
This small (~4 mm) 22-spot ladybird (Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata) is one of the few vegetarian ladybirds. Instead of feeding on aphids like most other ladybirds it eats milldew.

As I was crawling through the undergrowth near the Nedre Dammen pond in Stensjödal in Tyresta National Park I noticed something very small - and very yellow! To my delight I realized it was a female 22-spot ladybird (Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata).
These are only around 4 mm in length so I was fortunate I hade the Canon MP-E65mm on my camera and got this shot and a couple more at 3.3:1 magnification.
The way you can tell which sex it is, is quite easy The males have a white pronotum (the "middle part of the carapace") while females like this one are all yellow.
Unlike most other ladybirds who are predators and like to feed on aphids, these guys (and girls) are actually vegetarian and eat milldew.
