BBC must be getting short of pics - this was used in January 2021 on BBC Winterwatch too. I'm not complaining!

Wow! A near disaster averted last night, I had just set my tripod up with my camera on it and added a filter and turned around to secure my camera bag.

When a sudden gust of wind blew my tripod over on to the concrete floor. You can image my horror, my filter holder smashed to bits as did the filter. But I was so lucky the camera was ok. I did on the other side of the bridge you see here.....

So very lucky....

Didn't make explore but made the BBC. Very pleased. You can view the original photo in my photostream ( www.flickr.com/photos/gareth_weeks/3796339042/. )

I can't believe I'm actually writing this, but last night Wonderland was on the BBC News ! I gave a little interview outside my Regent Street Installation, and they showed a mix of stills. We've made a Vimeo of the piece so it can be watched in other countries, here you go!! (god still so nervous!) - vimeo.com/43724622

I've also written a new big blog post about everything that has happened this month including the behind the scenes pictures of the night of the Installation being made - www.kirstymitchellphotography.com/diary/?p=1740

Took this whilst waiting for a ride. It was considered the height of modernist chic about 30 years ago.

The BBC's French language service for Africa says it listens to the continent. At the very least, they have had some very hard-working employees over the years. Behind, a residential street in Kinshasa. Like the rest of the city, it was largely barren on election day as shops, restaurants and markets shuttered their doors (at least the ones that have doors).

A popular-beat combo called U2 performed from the roof of British

Broadcast House of the BBC next to All Souls Church in Central London

last week. Seeing a short clip on TV reminded me of anothercoffee

meeting where this photo was taken. As the pop video camera swung

around the Irish performers playing to fans from their roof stage, I

recalled this magic space above the bustling streets where the surprise

is not musical but urban.

Pirate BBC Essex 2017.

The BBC & Pharos Trust confirmed that the LV18 was to play host to Pirate BBC Essex at Harwich Docks from 12th to 14th August 2017.

14th August this year marked the 50th anniversary of the Marine Offences Act which ended the reign of the pirate broadcasters in 1967, although Radio Caroline continued until 3rd March 1968.

The broadcast over the August weekend culminated with a unique link up with a Radio Caroline

BBC Building in Glasgow and I played around with HDR.

The impressive Broadcasting House, just up from Oxford Circus in Central London, is the headquarters of the BBC. This is a panoramic shot, made from 5 stitched together in Lightroom, which was then cleaned up in PhotoShop, and was shot when it was quiet, at 0130 this morning.

The piazza with the lights and place names embedded in it was designed by Canadian artist and architect Mark Pimlott.

On the 5th December I'm uploading a video of some of my best photos to my channel, Sights and Scenes, looking forward to seeing you there.

My Badger was on the BBC Springwatch Instagram site two years ago, I just found out... (Nothing like finding out after the party started)... I don't do Instagram and only stumbled across this from a link on the BBC Springwatch page. Nice to see It's still getting an airing :@)

BBC Springwatch 2021 Avocet

I missed this the first time around even though I was sent an email from Springwatch.

If you look closely you can see Chris Packham has just "ticked off" by Avocet image.

Finally getting a chance to watch 'The Hour' on BBC America. After a couple episodes I'm hooked! I really hope they are doing a second season...this show is too good to only do one season. I'm kind of obsessed with Dominic West right now after seeing this and 'Appropriate Adult' on Sundance recently. 'The Wire' is next on my list to check out.
