This "Science College" prize cup was found in a dusty locker in the house of my late grandparents and parents. Anyone who could remember what this was for are now most likely no longer with us.

MACRO MONDAYS.....'Award' theme.
Prior to the COVID lockdown over 800 of us were volunteering at our local hospital, the 'Blue Brigade' as we are called because of our blue vests.
Always loved this little award. I was part of a team buying raw materials for the production of Ritz Crackers at Nabisco's plant in Welwyn Garden City, Herts UK.
Production was moved to another plant in Liverpool. I received this object which is a real Ritz encapsulated in plastic as a memento. Still a treasured item.
This little badge (measuring just 3/4 of an inch) and certificate was awarded to me on the 4th October 2003 by the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain,
It's a meritorious award for work done over many years within camera clubs, (I served on the committee of the local camera club for over 30 years,) the local federation, in my case was the Western Counties Photographic Federation, I served as Newsletter Editor, Audio Visual organizer and Archivist over many years, and the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain, through which I visited many clubs judging competitions and giving lectures, plus presenting my own work.
Something I enjoyed but from which I am now retired, after travelling many thousands of miles all over the West Country, from Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset, North and South Devon and Cornwall, plus clubs too far distant to travel to. They would send images to me, which I judged at home and emailed my comments back to them.
Joining Flickr has still given me the chance to view peoples photos, without judging, but enjoying all that I look at, so thank you one and all. Time to come clean now, how much longer I will be able to do this is unknown as I have a problem with my eyesight, hence sometimes not viewing or commenting on all your lovely photos for several days, but I'll keep going for as long as I can.
Watch awarded to my Dad for long service at Bata`s shoe factory, East Tilbury.
I was honored to have my photograph “Back Porch” selected for a Members' Choice Award at the 15th Annual Members' Exhibition at the Northville Art House – Northville, Michigan. My photograph was one of 5 voted by the members to receive the award from 80 pieces of artwork entered in the exhibition.
I am so humbled by being chosen the bes Male Model at the SX Awards for the second year in a row. I appreciate all the judges who have a tough job with all the great talent.
El reconocimiento es por viejo, no por méritos. Intento disimularlo desenfocando los años.
This award is for age, not for merits. I try to hide it by blurring the years.
I had a wonderful career in the United States Navy. The military awards performance not with dollars but with medals and their accompanying ribbons. We used to say that you could read a person's career by their awards, worn as medals on dress uniforms and a ribbon front ("fruit salad") on their working uniforms. My last command was as TF Surgeon for Joint Task Force Civil Support, then in Tidewater Virginia. We were tasked with preparing to assist civilian authorities with support in the event of use of weapons of mass destruction in the USA. That included chemical, biologic, radiologic, and nuclear (CBRN).
I learned much about what medical needs would be for all of them. As an infectious diseases physician and epidemiologist, I was able to bring expertise to that area immediately. My terminal award was the one to the left on this part of my miniature medals clasp, the Defense Superior Service Medal. I remain proud of this award 20 years on from my Navy retirement.

My mother, at the age of 50 and a widow, was awarded this pin upon completion of Practical Nursing training in 1963 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Haddon Heights, N.J.
To show both sides of the pin I placed the pin front side up on a photo of the back side on the screen of my phone. So in accordance with the rules of Macro Monday, this is a single photo. It is not a composite.
