JYANT: LOVE OVERDOSE

Jyant‘s Love Overdose is exactly what its title claims it to be. The album’s 40 solid minutes of lovemaking music pack an intensity greater than anyone could have imagined before pressing play.

jyantt

Rather than clinging to the shallow materialism that infests most of the R&B on the radio today, Jyant expresses his sexuality with a mature and respectful sex-positiveness. While devoutly worshiping the act of making love, he spends an equal amount of time exploring the themes of passion and partnership that sex in a relationship should be based upon. On Making Love To You he dreams of being “naked under the stars” with his lover while Sugar Rush sees him singing “I’ll wake up and make you breakfast in the morning/ whatever you wanna eat/ I’ll make a sausage/ If you’re vegetarian I’ll make an omelet”

Jyant’s musical influences are quite audibly put forth in the record. His style borrows from artists like Maxwell (who he name-drops on Making Love To You) and Miguel, and there are moments where the production brings to mind 808s and Heartbreaks-era Kanye West. Pianos, guitars and synthesizers backed by hip-hop beats are smartly used to create a lush and gentle air for Jyant’s smooth voice to cut through.

Love Overdose is a fairly strong effort for a debut album. It would be a pleasure seeing Jyant further develop his bedroom-readiness to greater musical heights.

Opera è multifunzionale e valida alternativa a IE.

Requisiti per l'installazione : CPU: Pentium 266MHz or higher ,Memory: 64MB or higher

First screenshot of Autotain, a simple new app I've worked on over the last two days that simplifies figuring out and finding new popular movies to torrent.

The app loads the Pirate Bay Top 100 film torrents, eliminates duplicate movies in preference of collecting only the best quality releases, and allows you to flick through them at your leisure. When you find one you'd like to get your hands on, clicking the Download button downloads the associated .torrent file and automatically launches it in your bittorrent application of choice (in my case, Xtorrent).

If you have no idea what the suggested movie is about, clicking the iTunes-store-style arrow next to the movie title fires up the Rotten Tomatoes page for the film in your internet browser – allowing you to read a plot synopsis and see if the critical consensis is favorable enough to warrant a download.

I have a few more features I'm interested in implementing in the next few days amongst my work and uni schedule, but with any luck I'll release this in the near future as a public beta.

I originally developed these photos for the student newspaper Stud.Jur. to illustrate an article on a new law providing copyright holders with a tool to fight illegal file sharing. The photos display the command dir in ms-dos, a command line environment.

Here is my basic setup...

The Powermac G5 is behind the 23" Apple cinema display.

-- -- Dual 2.0ghz

-- -- 3.5GB or RAM

-- -- ATI 9800 Pro Special Mac Edition

-- -- iSight

To the right is an older G3 iMac aka "BitTorrent Buddy"

and behind me is my girlfriends Mac mini.

Marked up version of NIST-cropped and labeled pic.

The woman, presumably Edna Cintron, entrapped on 94th floor of WTC-1, is still alive just before the tower started to collapse at 10:28:22 a.m.

The advantages of having a nice fast Mac—look at all those windows! And it”s still running fast despite running hogs like a Bittorrent client, Lotus Notes and VMWare (running WinXP and another instance of Lotus Notes).

Steal This Album - Album cover from System Of A Down (SOAD). Strong message for copyright breaking Peer to Peer (P2P) music downloaders.

System Of A Down is a Grammy winning Armenian-American rock band. Their signature is generally a short, heavy rock-rap followed by a long slow soothing vocals (thus making a great contrast). If you haven't heard her, check out her videos here:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdRd3k4CIAg

Program Deluge służy do pobierania plików torrent z internetu. To alternatywa dla uTorrent.

This whole Linux idea might be working!

These are all the peers my system is using to download the ISOs of Fedora 7 (which came out today). That's a nice number of contributors to the hive mind right there.

Larger image here

I finally gave in. This is the result. Almost none of the above is possible with an Apple TV. The best thing so far is the various keyboard and iPhone shortcuts that don't require the tv turned on.

I was inspired by this article.

did some important work today (stickering up my work laptop - late 2013 MB Pro 15" retina)

This is Cascade Falls, in Moran State Park, on Orcas Island.

This picture represents my first foray into Photoshop. Most of the things I'm learning here are from the Photoshop CS3 Book for Digital Photographers.

Last, but not least, I added in the frame. For this, I pretty much followed the "Frame Effect" from the Photoshop CS3 Photo Effects Cookbook.

This, and the things I describe below, are, quite literally, from the 2nd time I've ever run Photoshop. I am a complete and total newbie as of about Noon today.

First up, I imported everything I shot yesterday into Adobe Bridge, selected my favorite shot. This opened Camera Raw which I used to eliminate the blown highlights. Clicking "done" on this opened the shot in Photoshop.

I then corrected the colors using the levels tool. I didn't go so far as to calibrate my monitor(s), but certainly the colors look as they did when I was there out on the Island yesterday.

To clean up the exposure, I used an overlay mask (50% gray) as a 2nd layer. I then used a gray to white gradient covering the bottom 3rd of the photo in order to signifigantly lighten it up. On the top 3rd of the photo, I used a grey-to-black gradient to signifigantly darken the area above the waterfall.

The photo has been signifigantly sharpened (too much?) using an unsharp mask.

I can see how learning Photoshop, and being able to do the related post-production work, is key to having stunning images. It'll be a while, but eventually I'll get there...

Buying Photoshop was a big decision - probably more than it should have been. I couldn't bring myself to just pull it down off BitTorrent (although I will admit to being only a mouse click away!), so I went ahead and bought a real copy. It sucks that I had to choose between Photoshop or a nice Sigma 10-20 macro lens.

It has been a tough few months, but I'm back on my feet and ready to get back on the road.

Just got these new Moleskine Voyageur notebooks to try out...

The iRiver, Creative Labs, iPod with Video, PSP, Gizmondo, Archos, Samsung, Epson and an Asian MPEG4 or DivX video and music playback devices. Screen sizes range from 2.5" to 7".

The problem for these things is getting content on them. Downloading via bittorrent is slow, plus you get annoying letters from your ISP too. CODECs for TiVo are DRMed and DVD's don't like to be ripped thanks to CSS. Check out my video blog - www.telepixels.com for what I think is the missing link.

I thought that was awesome, and had to try it. I selected all the applications in my aps folder and let er rip (well, I didn't fire up Paralles and let windows pollute things). Only took about 5 minutes to load everything. I had 144 processes running after all was said and done -- and memory to spare!!!!!

Promoviendo a Judas

¿Buen chico, no?

Anna Ardin, sueca enfurecida
