Birth: 1913

Cook County

Illinois, USA

Death: Jun. 6, 1944

Sussex, England

Sgt George Kyle served in WW2 with the US Army Air Forces as a Technical Sergent. He was inducted from Illinois and was single without dependents. George was the son of Clarence and Nira Kyle, younger brother to Helen. George served with the 584th Bomber Squadron, 394th Bomber Group, Medium. His service ID number was 36348272. He had several awards including:

Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 9 Oak Leaf Clusters and Purple Heart

Thirty one year old George Kyle was a member of the crew of the 42-107592 "Stinky" of the 584th Squadron which collided with 42-96249 587th Squardon over Battle Sussex at 6am on June 6, 1944, D-Day. Bad weather was said to have had caused icing up on the planes which caused the accident.

It was mission # 58 for the Group. The group was on a mission to bomb gun emplacements in Varreville, France on D-Day. Pilots of both the 592 & the 249 were flying on instruments at the time of the accident. Weather at the time of the accident was noted to be: Vis 7mi, wind 8 mi, 7/10 Strata Cumulus. Tommie Potts, who survived the crash after bailing out states he lost control of his aircraft while in the overcast. He had felt no distinct jar, as would be in a collision, but that his aircraft kept veering to the left and at one point was on its back. He instructed the Bombardier to jettison bonbs and then gave the signal to abandon the aircraft. The crew had gone to the bomb bay and Tommy, assuming that the Bombardier had left the doors open, waited for a minute, lowered the nose wheel and bailed out. The crew had worked feverishly to dump the high altitude bombs so that they would fall unexploded as the plane neared its crash landing. The 592 crashed at Whatlingon Level and the 249 crashed at Ashburnham Place. They crew had saved many lives by their quick actions to jettison their bomb load.

Below was a young teenage, Ian Cheveralls, a messenger for the Civil Defense Air Warden. He was watching the planes flying through the clouds above when the crash occurred. Upon the crash he ran towards the planes and could hear Tommie calling out for his crew. Tommie was the lone surviver, the bodies of the rest of the crew were found in the bomb bay.

Tommie retired following the crash, sent home with a Distinguished Flying Cross. He would marry and begin to raise a family. Tommie passed away in 1971. This crash has been memorilized by a plaque put up in Battle at the Royal Legion hall, the dedication reading "THESE AMERICAN AIRMEN GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR OUR FREEDOM"

The members of crew 42-107592 were:

-Lt Tommie J. Potts

-Lt Christian Burger

-Lt Leroy A Dyer

-Sgt James M Long

-Sgt George W Williams

The crew of the 42-96249 killed was

-Lt Thomas Jenkins

-Walter Winter

-Sgt William C Hoeb

-Sgt Ralph D Parker

-Sgt Boris R. Selinsky

-Sgt Edward F Bailey

This entire crew died this day.

Had a bit of a job identifying this little chap so I had to magnify him! ;)

I think he's a Bloody-nosed Beetle.

You have 3 minutes with a bomb that will open the last chest, you can still get the achivement without bonb or getting the chest, it´s basically just running and jumping pretty hard paths filed with Eagle Griffons and their nest, a few boosts in the nests. I couldn´t do the run with the bomb so i slowly did it for the achivement, the area is simply gorgeous with a lot to explore.

You can get one chest tho without bomb.

In all the years I've been doing BonB, this was the first time I was the only volunteer.

Proyecto 365 - Día 31: Tributo a John Barry

Ayer día 30 de Enero el gran John Barry, creador de la banda sonora de James Bonb, se fue! He aquí mi tributo a este genio.

Como la idea de la foto en el postproceso era envejecerla un poco he aprovechado para utilizar por primera y última vez el objetivo del kit, creo que solo vale para esto y B/N...

The ups - Wednesday with Trisha at Dave & Busters.

The not-so-ups - Mom went back into the ER last night with a potassium level of 8.7 (considered life-threatening).

The ups - Dad had a heart cath today and everything went extremely well.

The not-so-ups - Mom has been stuck in the same bed in the ER for the past 24 hours waiting for a unit in ICU to open.

The ups - I watched a small herd of deer in a cemetery and a medium-sized hawk dive-bonb a flock of pigeons gathered at a feeder ten feet away from me. This one may not be an Up for the pigeons, but in this case they all got away unscathed.

More the ups - Mom is feeling better, although her potassium and sodium aren't where they need to be.

Even more the ups - I found an sad, partially burned-down farmhouse this afternoon in the boonies and - luckily - had my camera with me.

Nice, and in this shot, evil looking Range Rover Sport HSE.

I did a small photoshoot with this black on black Range Rover for a client of mine in Rotterdam.

An estimated 20,000 hunt supporters demonstrate in Parliament Square as a new bill to ban hunting with dogs is passed. Some demonstrators fought with riot police, and five hunt supporters managed to get onto the House of Commons floor during the debate. A smoke bonb explodes besdie police horses guarding Parliament.

[04/28/2017] Serving up some pancakes to some bikers this morning at Breakfast on the Bridges. Spent the rest of the day working on some emails for a project, reading for pleasure, and working on the video course.

Black shirt on Black Background = BonB

While towing all this home (4 signs, 6 airpots, 3 tables, one milk crate full of coffee cups, two full panniers, one full backack, a campstove, and other various items), I was passed by a ridiculously huge truck- a Ford F350 crew cab- with nothing in it but the driver. The guy revved up his motor and made a big show of passing me really fast, only to be stuck at the next light (Williams and Fremont). So I laughed. A few seconds later I caught him at the light and pulled up next to him on the driver's side (I was turning left onto Fremont), and he looked at me and said, "What's so funny?"

"Well," I replied, "I was just thinking how ironic it is that I'm hauling more than you are."

"Maybe you should get a truck," he said.

"Oh, I think it's pretty clear I don't need one," I replied. "Maybe you should get a bike."

"Yeah, right," he answered, then drove away.

[06/02/2017] Crazy packed day - BonB Tilikum followed by yoga, working from home, and then meetings and the Stream PDX pop-up at Vanport Festival.
