- //-

On that day went to church before facing the Bull ... before facing the World .... a World that no longer recognized ... wrapped in hatred, hurt and anger ... remains of disappointments ... but that day something called him for that church ... after all had not lost his own faith ... in Others ... and in Himself !

This work was based in a shot i take to the Church in Odivelas. near Lisbon.

Several digital paintings processes, glow , art collage and textured layered techniques.

This composition is symbolic ... sometimes i have no words to describe wow i feel ... this is one of them ... sad times, but even now when our World seems to collapse we must continue to believe in a better Future ... after all it is what allows us to continue to live ...

A wonderful week dear friends ! : )

Most Portuguese bullfights (corridas de touros) are held in two phases: the spectacle of the cavaleiro, followed by the pega. In Portugal, the main stars of bullfighting are the cavaleiros, as opposed to Spain, where the matadores are the most prominent bullfighters. Nevertheless, bullfights with matadores are frequent, notably with Portuguese matadores who practice their trade in Spain and who, when in Portugal, replace the sword in their final strike with a bandarilha. Examples of famous Portuguese matadores are Vítor Mendes and Pedrito de Portugal.

During the cavaleiro, a horseman on a Portuguese Lusitano horse (specially trained for the fights) fights the bull from horseback. The purpose of this fight is to stab three or four bandeirilhas (small javelins) in the back of the bull.

Rodeo clown is inside the barrel....not sure if he's crapping his pants, only the lady who does his laundry knows for sure. I have 7 more frames after this SOOC. Watched The Longest Ride with my Mom last night, best movie of rodeo action I've ever seen. Very close to what it's really like for a bull rider. My Mom was cringing and of course, I was thrilled by all the snorting, hoof pounding action :) Also, never knew Carolina was so beautiful. Have a great weekend. Hope this heat wave goes away soon, I can hardly think straight!

She felt surrounded without being able to escape

Fears faded from the quick beats of her heart

Looks that cross between prisoner souls

Laments in the sadness of the destiny that did not choose

After all, she just wanted to be free ... not to loose.

This one shows the 8th "forcado" trying to calm down the bull by grabbing firmly the bull's tail, and gaining time so the rest of the team can safely get out of the ring. After a few circles in the sand, the bull give up and the forcado releases the tail, leaving the ring without being pursued...
